Mr James Wilson was undoubtedly one of the most accomplished footballers in Victoria, and as a player and captain combined, he has had possibly no equal. The younger generation only know of him as a footballer by repute, but the older patrons never tire of talking of his brilliant achievements in the field. In a cluster of fine players of his day he shines pre-eminently and no history of Victorian football could be considered complete without reference to him.
