That wary old veteran T. W. wills was to have been the captain of the Geelong men, but as he arrived late, Mr Arthur was elected to that responsible position. GA May 1872 ..before an hour had passed another goal was kicked by the veteran “Tommy Wills’’ who was shepherding his brother Horace. It was not much of a kick, but everyone seemed pleased Wills had gained a goal, it being seldom - as he generally plays in the ruck – that he gets a chance.
